I hope you all realize THE MAGNIFICENCE of our parents and grandparents. Most family reunions fizzle out after a decade or two of meeting as the next generations lose interest and become busy with life's struggles and the their own nuclear families. We all can testify to the changes in the economy over the last 30 years or so as we struggle to give our children the best lives as we raise them to become responsible citizens. Through all this, we still reconvene yearly, some folks bi-yearly and in a lot of cases only once in every 3-6 years but never forgetting where we came from, our family connection and the importance of "checking in."
When I speak to friends or maternal side family members, I get two things from them:
They are amazed that we are in our 60th year; heck, even our Hotel Coordinator who has made thousands of arrangements expressed amazement that we are in our 60th year.
Next, people want to know, "Who in your family has the surname Century?" 😁
We have been getting lots of responses and a good percentage of these responses are from family members who have never attended a "Century Family Reunion" in the past! We are very excited about this!
